The "stimulus check" was to be deposited into my checking account today.
I just checked irs.gov and it stated that it would be MAILED to me on April 24, 2020.
So much for the Direct Deposit that was supposed to happen TODAY! I just checked my account and it is not there, so mail it is it seems. Will our household ever see this?
I really need that money right now as my hot water heater went out about a week ago and it cost me $850.00 to replace it.
By the time I pay some of the other bills I now have, including the Instacart charge from COSTCO, it is all but spent.
I canceled Instacart yesterday. What a rip-off thing Instacart is! The $175 worth of items I got from them cost me $230 which is 30%+ more that it would have been had I been able to go and shop myself. I was waiting on line for over an hour being disconnected and reconnecting about 10X yesterday as I attempted to close the Instacart account. BUYER BEWARE!
That said, it is simply not affordable on an income of $900 a month to continue the Instacart shopping; I guess it is affordable for some out there, but not someone in my boat, which is sinking really fast, it is NOT!
So much for you irs.gov and GET MY PAYMENT. Is this just a big scam or what?

(3,547 posts)Some time next week. You are going to get a paper check. They have my address even though I have DD. I did a 2019 income tax return so they have my address and decided to send me a paper check.

(58,693 posts)I'm not desperate, but I was hoping it would come in before the next round of monthly bills, though. This is a 5 week month for my SS check, and the account is getting thin.

This is a low-blow IMO.
What a damned insult!
As for the new hot water heater I had to pay for, they wanted cash or a check only, no credit cards!
It was an unexpected *hit*.
I have one appliance left that my late mother bought me when I moved into the house I now live in. It is a Hotpoint refrigerator and they no longer make this brand.
I paid $350 for it 20 years ago.
How much longer will it last?
This whole thing is doing me no good at all and now that Instacart is no longer an option, I'll have to put my old immune-compromised POS body on the line to get some food!
Oh well ...

(20,877 posts)I will check into it.
BTW: I noted something the other day, COSTCO WILL deliver for free if you spend $75.00. I did just that (paper towels, toilet paper, some honey and some dried onions for cooking).
You have to go to costco.com to order this way and choices are slim and the order will not be delivered for 14+ days it said.
What else can I do?
If I get this sh*t and it kills me, its on dump's head!
What a stupid POS!
I hope you get your money soon!
I don't know what to expect!

I did get my payment, but she has extra expenses and needs the money.
