Everything you want to know about those stimulus checks

WaPo has an excellent, non-paywall page with lots of answers.

If you haven’t received your money in the first wave of payments, don’t worry. It’s coming.

The first payments are being automatically sent to people who filed either a 2018 or 2019 federal tax return and received a refund using direct deposit.

Mailed checks, to filers who gave no bank information to the IRS, will start going out before the end of April.

Individuals who receive Social Security retirement, survivors or disability (Social Security Disability Insurance) benefits or Railroad Retirement benefits will automatically receive the $1,200 stimulus payment if they are eligible. The IRS announced that it has added to this group Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients.

The automatic payments for SSI recipients will go out no later than early May, according to the agency statement.

Q: What if I don’t get my payment, or the amount I received is incorrect?

A: The IRS says it will mail a letter to your last known address 15 days after sending your payment. The letter will provide information on how your payment was made and a point of contact where you can report any failure to receive the payment or the correct amount.

Be careful about coronavirus-related scams that may appear to be from the IRS.

BTW..read this am that scammers are hard at work stealing the money, using info that was in the money hacks of credit reporting companies. They basically are using the portal that you can use to give information to get your stimulus $$$, they change the recipient's tax related addresses. or bank routing info.
trump's government is not very good with online security, it appears.

But, I really do not put any banking stuff on line and very little direct deposit and handing out banking stuff. Hence waiting so long for stimulus and tax refund. Thanks. YOU have a good day. A lovely day for a long walk of spring flowers. No scammer can mess with that.

Supposed to come on the Wed. you get your SS check.

They might have decided a tax filer + SS gets the SS direct deposit schedule.

Assuming your income/taxes are not in the $90,000 dollar range.....

understand you would get the refund thru mail and last I heard they put the tax stuff aside to deal with stimulus so could be a while before getting refund thru mail. That is what I am concerned about too. I sent in my tax stuff that would give me a refund on April 2. I received state almost two weeks ago. Not fed.
