Senate Democrat shares tuna melt tutorial

Virginia Sen. Mark Warner (D) rattled the internet Tuesday with a tuna melt sandwich tutorial that was unsavory for most, excluding himself.

Warner started his tutorial by plating two slices of white bread while adding liberal amounts of mayonnaise to the sandwich.

"I like mayo. I know my kids hate mayo," he said while adding enormous amounts of the sandwich dressing to both slices of bread.

I've tweaked his over the years a bit but while ours has tuna, cheese, mayo and bread in common with Sen Warner's the technique and assembly he used is quite, I'll be kind, let's just say 'different'. The grilled lower one OTOH looks a lot more like what I'm familiar with and like something I'd actually eat happily.

I learned from all of this that you aren't supposed to just have your hands under the water for the 20 seconds while you wash your hands. You are supposed to wet them, then apply the soap, then do your hand cleaning technique for the 20 seconds NOT UNDER WATER, then rinse your hands under the water. And if you are trying to be absolutely perfect, you dry your hands and then use the paper towel you used to dry your hands with to turn off the faucet so that you don't contaminate your clean hands with whatever germs were on it.

You are welcome, America!
