This is no longer just a clash of ideologies. It's a matter of competence, work ethic, diplomacy, courage, calm under fire, poise, professionalism, humor, cleverness, and confidence. The President is not perfect, but he does have all of these attributes.
The other one is a tool. He has none of the above. He doesn't know SHIT about running a state, much less a country. The only thing he knows how to do is make money.......for people who already have money. Here's the dirty little secret: It's easy to make money if you already have lots of it. Therefore, this is not an attribute.
Make no mistake: America is just that stupid. We've been there before. I don't care if it costs me friends. I'm not listening to any of their bullshit. I'm tired of hearing about the undecideds. How in the hell can anyone not see through this phony RailRoad ticket?
But neither am I going to live inside the "liberal bubble" and pretend that the press in the real world isn't desperately trying to make the race appear closer than it is by engaging in "he said/he said" tactics JUST SO THEY CAN SELL PAPERS AND AD SPACE.
We live in a fucked up world where money can decide elections. If that's the only way to fight "Big Corporate," so be it. I donated what I could to the "Obama 2012" campaign. It's the least I could do. I am not going to tell anyone else what they should do, but that's my small part.
It's time to energize and mobilize.

(14,177 posts)I will be saying this until the election or until he drops out of the race which ever comes first. I want this meme to go far and wide. What he did is beyond being negligent or a gaffe. It was a calculated move to make Obama look bad and he lied. It would have been easy to verify what happened many people looked at the time line of events and came to the conclusion that Obama didn't apologize nor did the people in the Embassy. They made statements while under attack that weren't even an apology, but some could say they were less than not apologetic I suppose. I mean they didn't say F you, you protesters or anything like that. But, in Mitt's world I guess it is ok to be surrounded by people protecting you while you liable people that are under attack. I hope the families sue Mitt for his comments.

Skin that pale mean he's easy to spot if you're driving at night.
Thanks to him, we can enjoy four more years of president Obama
He could win first place, hands-down, in any Lurch look-alike contest.
He knows who let the dogs out, but doesn't want to give spoilers.
He's not a Fop; he's a Dapper Dan Man
His strange beliefs and bizarre social mannerisms make furries, otaku, and goreans feel less awkward about themselves.
He's singlehandedly returned "golly" to the English language.
Till not as insane as Bachman or Santorum.
If the dog suffers explosive diarrhea on the car's windshield during a cross-country trip, you can count on Mittens to clean it up.
He probably won't try to run in 2016.
I can think of all sorts of positives!

Maybe if she shaved it all off for Locks of Love or something, I would give her a pass for a day.

(2,424 posts)We laughed at him for a dog on the car roof and betting ten grand in a debate.
I'm not laughing at him anymore. This is not funny. This is deeply disturbing.
To me, he no longer is the butt of a few jokes. He is deeply despised. I have gone from political ridicule to personal contempt.
I'll go with the Freepers on this one. I would rather have Herman Cain or Newt Gingrich as President than Mitt Romney.
Not that I could even begin to support the other candidates, but they certainly are more qualified and a whole lot less scary.
I'm not religious, but this has a "B" movie "666" feel to it. Romney easily depicts the "Anti-Christ" of Theocratic legend. In one scene, we saw the "anti christ" grin devilishly at a press conference while the bodies of fallen American servants were still warm. This movie has the characteristic plot twist of a former minister becoming consumed with a demon's lust for power. Not even a "man of God" is safe from such darkness. Mitt Romney is a best seller for horror fans.
This man is evil to the core of his very soul and he is close to becoming the leader of the free world.

(12,769 posts)Then again, I couldn't imagine Dubya either and we survived his administration, barely. Given that we haven't even come close to repairing all the damage Dubya did, an administration with Cain, Gingrich or Romney at the helm would undoubtedly doom our current conception of our country.
I want my country back and I still don't have it but at least with Obama I have some hope that it may at least become recognizable to me again.
