"SNIP....

A new Yahoo News/YouGov Poll finds that 71% of Americans are more worried about lifting the restrictions too quickly, while 29% are worried it will happen too slowly.

“A majority of Democrats (87%) and about half of Republicans (51%) agree that the country should only reopen once public-health officials are fully able to test and trace new cases and outbreaks—and most Americans (52%) recognize that the country is not currently conducting enough COVID-19 testing to track future outbreaks of the virus.”

And that depends. Smart companies will try to prevent virus spreading among employees and customers, so that may help. If things in the red states have to be slammed shut again, Americans are going to be so gun-shy that any future attempt to "reopen" will turn out disastrous for Trump and GOP governors. Trump and GOP governors are throwing all their chips on the table, I don't believe it goes well for them, the issue is whether a broad swath of voters will make them pay during voting time.

See! We did something!

There’s zero likelihood that businesses just start up like they were.

Kemp especially looks like a pandering moron. Last to turn off the lights and then first yo flip them back on.

As I posted elsewhere- are movies actually being released to theaters right now? What are they going to show? Live from The Met Opera?

I wouldn't go into a movie studio or restaurant if they gave me everything free. Movie studios in particular are a trap, they channel everyone out through a tight conduit once the movie is over - if you have ever had the misfortune of being behind someone that had really bad breath, you know how air breathed out by people hangs in the air for you to breath in. What my strategy will be if DeSantis reopens Florida like I expect he will, is only go grocery shopping avoiding close contact with everyone, no going into eating places, I will keep using the takeout window. No going to movies or plays or concerts. My goal will be to stick around so that I can help vote Trump out of office in November, then help remove DeSantis and Rubio in 2022, then help defeat Scott in 2024.

with particles that people create, either their breath, fragrances, or farts, it is all there constantly waiting for us to breath in. The more trapped a person is on a space, the bigger the load of particles taken in.

Part of Trump's own 3 phase plan requires that the ac heating system be checked and cleaned. If that’s actually enforced that would be another expense to store owners. I’m assuming that’s not cheap.

AC is big here in the Summer. It provides an almost perfect environment for covid19, moderately cool, low humidity air. It is prevalent in eating places, offices, you name it. I don't know how Trump came up with the check the AC thing, that only has a chance if the AC air comes downward in perfect laminar flow so that particles are swept downward on release, most systems don't have the level of design sophistication to make that happen. Trump is again saying dangerous shit, many people will conclude that it is safe to go inside because the AC has been checked, that is dead wrong for most common AC systems.

Checks of AC systems is pretty inexpensive for moderate sized facilities. For a Publix, Walmart, Lowes, it is more complicated because of system balancing across a big area. A lot of buildings tend to have wall release systems instead of top down systems like the big boxes have, the wall release systems make covid19 transmission worse.

Is this your professional expertise? If so I hope you're in a position to influence the decision-makers, because those people need to wake the hell up.

There is no "normal" any more, after the quarantine is finally over. We need to create a new normal, and things like air conditioning, public water fountains, movie theaters, rock concerts, etc. etc. will all need to be addressed. Why isn't Chump working on this instead of trying to start riots in Michigan?

My professional career involved a lot of work with mass flow and reaction kinetics. My current business involve a lot of fluid mixing design. The reason why I talked about laminar flow is that I use it to sweep the air in my building, the theory and equations are complex, but the actual practice of setting up such a system really isn't.
