Anyone remember the Twilight Zone Episode: The Old Man in the Cave?

A town in a post apocalyptic world. A respected man played by actor John Anderson was able to communicate with 'the old man and the cave' who had the uncanny ability to tell whether canned foods the townspeople found were okay to eat or were contaminated.

In rides the brash character played by James Coburn who told the townspeople that this was a hoax and the food was okay. the Coburn character went was far as seeking out 'the old man and the cave' discrediting it and finally destroying it.

It end up all except the John Anderson character ate the contaminated food and you can only guess what happened after that.

I thought a lot about this particular episode; trump, Alex Jones, Rush Limbo, the liberate <place city or state of your choice> mob and other members of the far right who want nothing better than to sway public opinion that the COVID-19 virus is a hoax, nothing worse than the flu or a cold. I certainly hope life doesn't imitate art here.

Was thinking about that episode too. Right on point. Although James Coburn is far better looking and in far better shape than Trump, Alex, Rush etc!

Yep, like so much Serling did, it was way before its time. And I also hope to [bleep] it doesn't happen much beyond what already has, and that we have the sense to stop it (and Dump, and his platoon of racists and liars).
