19 April, 1989, one of the worst peace time disasters in Naval history happened on USS IOWA in the Caribbean Sea when Turret Two exploded, instantly killing 47 Sailors.
While the resulting botched investigation was a terrible embarrassment to the Navy, please remember these lost Shipmates.
