From a litchman's keys perspective, Donnie fomenting social unrest is really stupid

Donnie was looking to have a good chance of re-election prior to covid-19.

But the economic shutdown is turning one and possibly two keys against him.

Now he wants to turn the social unrest key against himself as well?

Social unrest makes people vote for *change*. That's not something an incumbent wants....

At least, that is what he is aiming for.

And like other authoritarians, the unrest he's ginned up to justify heavy-handedness and the dissent he's intending to repress are not the same people at all.
