Steve Mnuchin thinks the $1200 stimulus payment will last Americans 10 weeks

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@AOC·13h
“It’s your monthly rent, Michael. What could it cost? $10?”

Brianna Westbrook@BWestbrookAZ8
Steve Mnuchin thinks Americans can live on $1,200 for 10 weeks.

This man doesn't live in the real world. $1200 won't cover the monthly rent for 2-bedroom apartment in the Bay Area.

Buying a two month supply of food, medicine, and pet stuff. Seriously, at least I had the money to do that. O feel so sorry for those who could not.

Shit, it wouldn't cover a ONE-bed apartment. Google "ridiculous rentals in san francisco" or just browse the "Apartment Sadness" series to see the genuinely preposterous prices demanded from some of the worst hovels to be had:

https://sfist.com/apartment-sadness/

Sixteen years ago, I had a wee studio apartment two blocks north of San Francisco City Hall that still cost only $365 a month because of unusual circumstances. When I moved in ten years earlier, the manager was feeling generous because Hollywood had paid to completely renovate the building after using the entire block as a setting for Sister Act 2. After I chased away some punk who was threatening him, the manager never once raised my rent. Eventually the building became a government-run halfway house and the manager was transferred out. While my rent was locked in, a poorly-handled bedbug infestation finally drove me away. Now I'm paying $1900 monthly for a single-bedroom.

He is such a clueless dork. He is one of those guys who has always been a dweeb his whole life and now he has a little bit of power and, dammit, he's going to get back at the world for rejecting him. His wife is only with him because of his money and connections and he probably knows that. They are both revolting human beings.

I really can't wait until we have our version of the Nuremburg trials. These people are all going to pay for their greed and evil deeds.

So far it hasn’t been to cover anything at all. Disgusted with this Trump IRS. It is like the rollout is so bad they want to foster more distrust in government.

I don't know of anywhere in North America where that would be the case, however.
