(3,266 posts)that he seriously fucked this up. NOT that he cares that he's caused thousands of preventable deaths - but he does care that everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, is pissed off about it and the deaths have hurt his reelection chances. I do believe that deep within himself, he knows he really fucked up this time, and it can't be fixed, reversed, ignored, sued out of existence - and he's a bit panicked, which is why he keeps losing his shit at the pressers, why he's trying to lay blame on China and WHO. He knows this is a colossal cock-up.
Up to now, every time someone said Don knows he's history, I disagreed. But there are Republicans amongst the medical first responders, and they see what's the what. They can't be gaslighted. And those in his base who have gotten sick, or even lost loved ones, they see, too.
He knows he's toast, so he's even trying to change the narrative away from the deaths by bullshitting about defunding WHO, by talking about adjourning Congress. Even that negative press is better than the deaths.

(21,162 posts)Doing a great job and use fake and hoax all the time about his CV response. Even though they are still getting paid (Thank you Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic party) my hubby points this out to them and they walk away from him. They are unwavering and listen to OANN, Fox and to hate radio on their long commutes out to the SF Bay Area suburbs. Ironically those co workers who live closer to the airport and dont hear the hate radio are vehemently anti MF45.

(14,004 posts)hell be removed from the Oval Office in January whether he likes it or not. At that point, Biden would be the commander in chief and can order the Secret Service or US Marshalls to arrest him if he attempts to overstay his welcome.
Miguelito Loveless
(4,465 posts)but Trump has shown no concern for the law. Also, having replaced so many people with loyalists, there is no guarantee that law enforcement or the military will obey the law. I also see Trump directly interfering in the elections by using the NG, or soldiers to "quarantine" areas that pose a danger to public heath, i.e. Blue States.
If that fails, he can always call on his followers to form armed patrols that he will "deputize" to "protect" polling locations from "fraud". The GOP will certainly back him with voter suppression actions, and they are prepared to kill the USPS to prevent vote by mail.

(65,076 posts)...was very low, the delta between him and HRC was only 4.3%, aggregated. They were both deeply underwater.
Plus/minus 2%, it was a dead heat.
The delta between him & Biden is much greater. I couldn't find enough data on Biden to aggregate the numbers. But, it's closer to 2x, with Biden net positive, compared to 2016.
Still, as you suggest, GOTV & don't get cocky.

whopis01
(3,514 posts)Not agoraphobic in the literal sense, but rather in more of a social / ideological sense.
An actual agoraphobe is afraid of leaving the house, being in a wide open area, or being in a crowd.
These are people who are afraid of being exposed to thoughts and ideas outside of their narrow world view. Afraid of being in a society crowded with varying thoughts and ideas. Afraid of being exposed in the open without the comfort of completely like minded people around them.
So certainly not actual agoraphobia - but something similar.

(11,474 posts)I will tell you why. I have been doing their surveys since they were polling point 14 yrs ago.
They just had me do a long survey on covid yesterday but this one showed little clips of Trump from his latest briefs and they showed just a flash of him saying something nice. On each one you were suppose to say what you thought of what he said, terrible, poor, fair, good, excellent
I said terrible for all except him saying something about this guy who died and on that i said ok.
In the comment section at end I said good try, doing a survey where you only show tiny clips of president saying nice things that he doesnt mean written by someone else why i said all was terrible.
They usually have more fair surveys but someone must have paid big bucks to make sure he gets high ratings.

(18,663 posts)Or thereabouts that Gallup said his rating went up. They were denigrated as being unreliable with a laundry list of reasons why their numbers are inaccurate.
Now when the same polling says his numbers are down, we seem to put a lot of faith believing they are correct (even if the exact number may not be correct)
Actually that pretty much is the case with any poll.

(38,434 posts)"These data are from an April 1-14 Gallup poll." see link in original post.
What is most important to me, is the Trump rants from April 10 on, show he has fallen apart. Worse and worse.
Lies on top of lies. That core of undecided voters is shifting from neutral to Anti-Trump....That ugly side of Trump has been exposed clearly and in a very ugly way to those "undecided voters"..
...We know, and the Republicans know, and the media knows, but those undecided voters and those who don't know nothing, are beginning to see the truth.. And there will be no turning back. Once people see the truth, if that number is 20% shifting to Anti-Trump, then it is over in my opinion. And yes, it will go below 35% in my opinion.
