Trump has taken a massive , deadly national crisis and instead of putting in a national response, he has pitted Republican states against democratic states, not trying to solve the crisis, but for re-election purposes.
He has spent months telling his voters this is a hoax. He has told lie after lie. They are completely insane after years of being exposed to propaganda.
The sane listen to the experts. We want testing, tracing in place before we slowly open things up. We want to do this because we do not want to die. What good is a good economy if you're dead?
So Trump has reduced our nation to people fighting to kill themselves, vs people fighting to live. The sane vs insane.

(6,075 posts)You know, like the gamut of colors you can get by mixing red, green, and blue in varying proportions. If you mix stupid, evil, and crazy in various proportions you can represent every Trumpie.

(115,732 posts)Under an event page titled "Liberate Minnesota," conservatives are organizing a rally outside the governor's mansion to "demand Governor Walz and our state legislators end this lock down!" The protest, scheduled for noon on Friday, mirrors similar public demonstrations held in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Michigan.
Like Minnesota, those states happen to have Democratic governors, though the Liberate Minnesota page has a more pointed label for Walz, a former social studies teacher and football coach who served 24 years in the U.S. National Guard:
"The fact is, our freedoms and economy are under full blown attack by a radical anti-American Governor -- and we must act quickly if we are going to save them!"
The rally page asserts Walz has not ordered a stay-home order (among others) to "save lives," but is instead attempting to "launch a full blown attack on the citizens of Minnesota... to strip away and annihilate the freedoms that we enjoy!"
A couple of the nimrods who are organizing this display of weapons-grade idiocy are also well-known local anti-Muslim activists.
crickets
(25,981 posts)This is the kind of thing that gets out of hand with no clear leadership and no clearly defined message from the top. trump refuses to stand behind social distancing, so every RW nutbar has free reign to get away with this nonsense. It's a national security issue at this point. It's going to get worse until governors have no choice but to ask the National Guard to help corral the nonsense. Then all the RW nutbars will really start to squeal.
Lather, rinse, repeat. Ugh.
