analysis and can see a disparate combination of forces that make it far from a raving of some dystopian crank. I especially believe my positing to be strongly within the realm of possibility if Trump is somehow re-elected and takes the SCOTUS to 7-2 or even 8-1 hard RW (and replaces the ageing thug Thomas with a younger model of goon.) That could very well kick off a massive, systemic to once and for all roll back most, if not all of the post-Brown v Board gained civil rights, including Brown itself. The Red states will flood the federal system with hundreds (if not thousands) of test cases designed to do this very thing, and if/when those civil rights protections are stripped apart by the courts, a Rethug POTUS (and Congress if they control it) may very well try to go beyond simple state devolution and enforce a nationwide theoretical lattice-work of mandatory rights suppression.

I also have not I been saying this for years, nor do I suffer to any significant extent from normalcy bias, which I have seen emanate from many over the past 5 years and leads to an attitude that 'it can never happen here'. The US Constitution has been, is now, and will be massively trashed by Trump, yet he continues unabated. I have a strong suspicion that if a person had, in 2014, laid out a similar level of trampling as a near term possibility, (the same level that has occurred now), they would have been greeted with much derision.

Dissolutions of giant empires and huge nations do not occur overnight, they occur one ill-willed footstep at a time, and there have already been many such malign troddings in terms of the US.

Two teenagers at 2:00am decided to screw with a Denver Paramedic Ambulance on a red light and siren run......they kept pulling ahead of them, the ambulance changed lanes, they changed to that lane to block them. The p's radioed in the car, plate, occupants. The Paramedics got on scene and went inside.
When they came out, the two were laying face down on the asphalt, handcuffed, with Denver Fire surrounding them both and explaining how they really didn't take kindly to anyone screwing with the un-armed defenseless Paramedics.
