Hmm. Looks like there may be some who think research escaped a lab.

(5,602 posts)2 labs studying virus from bats in Wuhan also sounds hinky. Call me anything you want. I thought this when I heard of all the crazy symptoms. The Chinese will never admit to it and we will never know, but something isnt right.

(61,701 posts)Of course there were labs in Wuhan studying the coronaviruses in bats. Epidemiologists know that bats in that region carry coronaviruses. This is not a surprise.

(6,562 posts)A few weeks ago, they were talking about the virus and it's relationship to HIV. What?? Now recently, they are talking about HIV treatment being somewhat effective. What?
You just can't blame people for being suspicious. These may be musings, but still it seems like something is wrong.

(100,100 posts)It was someone studying bats and bat viruses, and gross incompetence caused the virus to escape from the lab.

(6,562 posts)who is questioning that it originated in China? Who cares? Trump is being criticized for a tardy reaction and his subsequent attempts to make money off it, and to increase his power. Also, he does not care if we live or die.
Honestly, he's spinning his wheels if he thinks it matters one bit that it came out of China. What matters is that his personality does not allow him to take anyone else's advice because he thinks he knows everything, and he failed to act in a timely manner. And, now he's just showing his ass.

And since it takes up to two weeks to show symptoms the person who accidental came in contact with didn't know it until it was too late to contain.
It actually makes sense since they type of mammal required to transmit this virus is not sold at the live seafood market that is being blamed and they were very quick to clean it and destroy any evidence instead of sealing it off and bringing in scientists in protective gear to find out exactly which area of the market was infected and how it became infected.

A couple of weeks ago British intelligence raised some eyebrows when they said they could not rule out the possibility of a lab accident.
Good luck finding anything more on the Internet, you'll soon get bogged down into wacky bioengineering conspiracies oozing from far right sites. Right now there's not really any evidence, just coincidences. The story plays well with the xenophobic right and most people covering it have an agenda so be wary.

(4,103 posts)It just doesn't have the interview with the Australian doctor who was in Wuhan and said it was highly unlikely it began in that market because nope of the possible host mammals are sold at that particular market.

If it was a.human and not monkey Ebola we would have had a huge Ebola outbreak in DC in the 1980s...
