When they write the history of Trump's COVID-19 failure, this NYT article will be the template

Should be free, not paywalled:

https://apple.news/A4fMB0P14RL2seyOYjG-xCQ

Lengthy article that names the names, points the fingers, gives credit where credit is due, in a precise, detailed timeline. Focuses on the Trump administration’s decision process, not the the science of the virus or tests, etc. The only omission I could see is info on the blocking/hijacking of the distribution of PPE and ventilators, although that could be an investigation all by itself.

Too much to effectively excerpt here; I urge everyone to read the entire article.

To bypass this:

The article text is displayed for a moment before the login popup hides it. During this moment click on some block of article text anywhere, and quickly type control-A. The whole article should become highlighted. As soon as this happens, type control-C, which copies what is highlighted onto the clipboard.

You can now close the webpage. Open your favorite word processor (I use OpenOffice, but both Word and Notepad will also work) and in a blank document type control-V. This will paste the document into the text editor, where you can read it at leisure.

Negative: you won't have some of the formatting or any of the illustrations
Positive: You won't have any of the ads, and NYT won't know who you are
