From tRump's inaction, you almost get the feeling he was told we're all doomed

How to explain tRump’s inaction and the actions he has taken that have spread the virus and its effects? It’s almost as if he was told that the virus is a species killer, and that species is us. That might explain away his total botch job on his pandemic response: he thinks there’s no hope.

3. It's not interesting to him. He's only interested in winning each day's news cycle.

He can only think about any given thing in that context.

A very large majority of people who are infected with COVID-19 survive and recover. Many have no significant symptoms. Others will never contract the illness.

It is a mistake to imply that it will destroy the human race. It will not. As bad as it is, and it's a very bad disease, most people will not die.

You are incorrect about that.

6. I don't think that's it - it's more likely that he just doesn't care.

Other people aren't real to him - they're no more significant than those little green army men kids used to play war with. He started taking the virus seriously only when it was explained to him that if a lot of people get sick and die it's going to hurt his re-election campaign.

out of office. That is likely a life or death situation for him, his family, and numerous collaborators. Trump won't live long regardless, but Jared will not do well in prison. These are the kind of people that will kill themselves over being taken down and ruined financially anyway.

So really, in his mind, he may as well have lied and played it to keep his and his allies fortunes intact. If he was somehow able to prop the markets up and things broke his way, he may have been able to win in November and the looting could even ramp up.

9. His inaction is easily explained. He is stupid, he is lazy, and his ability to lead is equivalent

I doubt that Trump has the capacity to feel anything like hope. Trump has no interest in Americans except in how he might exploit them to serve his latest evil chicanery.
