I needed to reassure myself about getting the $1200:

Social Security Recipients Will Automatically Receive Economic Impact Payments

The part I like is "do not need to take an action". That suits me.
This is from the US Treasury website.
Of course it is from April Fool's Day.

April 1, 2020

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service today announced that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an Economic Impact Payment. Instead, payments will be automatically deposited into their bank accounts.

“Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return do not need to take an action, and will receive their payment directly to their bank account,” said Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin.

traitor on it.

If they are going to do direct deposit, I wonder what the notation on your bank statement will say:

"Courtesy of Donald Trump and not the Democrats"

or something like that.

Worst human alive and 50 million of us love him. FUCK them

I think the last thing I heard was yes, even if you dont file..but in that case you will have to wait for a paper check, obviously as there is no way they have your bank info

UNLESS

you do direct deposit for your SS, do you? Most do, I guess then you wont have to wait...we will see...REMEMBER please, the IRS has been gutted on purpose and we cant trust Rump to do anything right, ever!

But I dont want you to worry, either. If this doesnt go down right I hope people get so angry no republican will ever DARE to steal another election again.

ps

The election wont be doable due to the virus, for most. So what are we gonna do? We have to make them so fucking scared that they dont steal the god damn election, somehow.

I said early on that was what I would do if it happened. I actually gave to Feeding America on the if come. Because my former company would double my donation.

group. Retired/disability. I did file this year but that's not supposed to matter. I'll look for it after banks close in a couple hours. That's usually when I see my disability come through. Most goes to paying down debt, but an unscheduled trip to a drive-thru for a few beverages may be in order.

Nice to do something as simple as a drive through. Who would have ever thought that a year ago.

Those who filed and have direct deposit on file with the IRS, followed by those who didn't file but SSA has the information, followed by everyone else who will require a paper check. I also heard they're putting the lower-income folks at the head of the line. They're burning up a lot of electrons processing all this.

Of course, in the time it took me to type this, the priorities may have changed. Either way, I won't be allocating a dime of it until it's in my hot little hands.
