#LIGHTITBLUE FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS ON THURSDAY, APRIL 9

[link:http://Americans for the Arts, the #LightItBlue|

Arts organizations and other venues with lighting and video capability are invited to join the campaign

March 26, more than 130 landmark and historic buildings all over the United Kingdom were lit blue as a salute to healthcare workers battling the COVID-19 global crisis. Now, the #LightItBlue campaign is crossing the pond and will appear in cities across the United States on Thursday, April 9, at 8:00 p.m. local time, creating a national show of support and gratitude to those essential workers caring for us on the front lines and creating a universal symbol of solidarity and hope.

Buildings, landmarks, and other venues – including arts organizations such as museums, theaters, concert halls and others – that have the capability are invited to light their buildings blue and/or share the #LightItBlue logo and the following message on a video screen: “Thank you to all those fighting on the front lines against COVID-19!” In order to adhere to stay-home orders across the country, only buildings which can be accessed remotely or at which someone is on-site as an essential worker should participate.

This tribute is not affiliated with any political organization(s) nor does it have a commercial benefit. It is an all-volunteer effort being undertaken by entertainment and events industry professionals. Write to makeitblue@thinkwellgroup.com with inquiries

My entire neighborhood did it. It was pretty. I would guarantee we’d participate now IF we could get the lights. Unfortunately there is little possibility of this. It’s tomorrow!!!! Not even Amazon is that good.
