2. Oh, there has always been a small, but vocal woo contingent here.

And yes, it is always bullshit "medicine." I don't care who believes the pad of a tiger's paw would cure everything I got. Even if they convinced one of my heroes to say it, it still won't make it true and I still don't want any tigers killed for it. Bullshit is still bullshit, no matter who says it.

3. It's not just medicine

there seems to be an influx of posters who post all kinds things with no cited sources. There are also new posters who have been here less than a month and average around a 100 posts a day!

Many of them are very obvious, and are soon flagged for review, but some are keeping to the rules, and are able to push their "agenda" of dividing DU.

I try and follow the old saying "don't feed the trolls". I post very little on the primaries board these days, and never get involved in the threads that are meant only to cause problems.

Got any SCIENCE (other than testimonials,) that it works?

Just as I thought. Not a damn thing.

12. Because I don't know if this study is even VALID.

Woo spreaders have posted fake "studies" in medical journals before.

We dump on the anti-vaxxers, who are notorious for using Andrew Wakefeld's "study" that supposedly showed vaccines caused autism.

His "study" was looked into more closely, and lo and behold, Wakefeld FAKED his "study."

The "study" was yanked from the Lancet soon after, and Wakefeld had his license yanked.

NOW...

The makers of "Cold-Eez" could use the study you posted, for advertising.

They don't.

Hmmm...

I keep seeing ads for Prevagen, another unproven woo product.

Should I take it because someone in the ad tells me to?

no question there is a ton of bs out there, I've always had the seasonal flu vaccine and I do a ton of research to
sift through the chaff but there is no proven cure, no western medicine panacea for this

18. The Apple Cider Vinegar Folks Are All Over COVID-19

That shit will cure any damned thing, apparently. I just did a search for Apple Cider Vinegar COVID-19. Lots an lots of hits, ranging from advice on dosing to debunking. My guess is that the debunking sites won't be read as often as the ones proposing that you use ACV to protect yourself.

Worthless.

16. Cold - Eeze actually isn't really homeopathic.

The makers of Cold-Eeze claim their product contains a form of zinc......and it actually does. The fact that the ingredient that they claim is in the product is actually present in the product pretty much disqualifies it from being truly homeopathic.

To really be homeopathic, the product would have to be water that had at some point touched some zinc, without there actually being any zinc in the water.
