I often wonder who Trump is talking to before those pressers.

I suspect it's the usual FOX News faces, along with some fundamentalist preachers. Those people have his ear, apparently, and feed him some of the nonsense he puts forth in his lengthy press "briefings."

Trump is very selective in what he chooses to think is credible. If what someone tells him generally agrees with what his addled brain comes up with, he thinks that person is an expert and should be listened to. If it disagrees, he discards it as useless.

Few of his paid underlings will counter his mistaken beliefs, it seems. Fauci is one who states his disagreement, so we are seeing little of him in the press briefings. The rest are little more than "Toadies for Trump."

Yes, of course. Miller writes a lot of Trump's scripts, to be sure. MineralMan Apr 2020 #2

He is more literate than Trump, which accounts for Trump's difficulty in reading what is prepared for him to say, but Miller is also an evil sort of asshole in multiple ways, so the coloration he gives to what Trump says is toxic and noxious.

Trump, however, is really unable to stay on script, and often strays into his word salad, run-on manner of speaking. He rarely finishes any sentence, and just says "and..." and continues to talk, starting another thought he will not complete. It's easy to tell when he is speaking off the cuff, rather than sticking to Miller's script.

But, Trump appears to have a group of informal, anonymous advisers to whom he speaks regularly. Hannity is one of them. There are others, but I don't have a list of them, and his conversations with them go unheard by anyone other than Donwald. I suspect they are the sources of many of his randomized words.
