of our neighbors. A couple of women jumped out of their cars and left their presents on the curbs so they did keep their distance. But it was so cool to see them honking car horns and a parade of birthday wishes.

(3,544 posts)They had a big birthday bash for them, but the covid-19 everything was canceled. So the mother and friend decided they would give them a surprise parade. The local police even joined in. There was a sign on the front porch that said honk your horn to celebrate their birthday. It's been in the local paper for a couple of days. Some even surprised them with gifts when they heard how disappointed the twins party was canceled. In the end the twins said this was better than a party.
Sorry I don't know how to do links.

(266 posts)-- cars decorated, honking horns, police escort, up and down the streets in the school district, and children and parents came onto the lawns and waved and clapped. Some made signs thanking the teachers. It was really lovely.

Probably cheered everybody up, too.

(9,651 posts)Most of the residents in here have a golf cart as their second car.
A week ago, a bunch of residents got together and decided to drive around the village in their golf carts, horns honking, bells rattling, any kind of noise makers they had, to cheer us up. Everyone loved it so much that they are now doing it three nights a week.
Tonight they are going to film it, in the hopes that the local news will put it on the air.
Whatever works to help us all keep going.
