Sources: President Donald Trump says NFL season should start on time

In a conference call with major league sports commissioners on Saturday, President Donald Trump said he believes the NFL season should start on time in September, sources familiar with the call told ESPN.

Trump also said he hopes to have fans back in stadiums and arenas by August and September, sources said, although it is currently unclear if medical experts find that to be a realistic timeline amid the current coronavirus pandemic.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver told those on the call that the leagues were the first to shut down and that they would love to lead the way in starting the economy once there was an "all clear" from public health officials, sources familiar with the call told ESPN.

The NBA was the first league to suspend play, on March 11.

'Y'. Pardon my language. I doubt by then people are going to be so willing to place their lives in danger. Well, I say this w/ tongue in cheek. There are still a lot of idiots out there who think nothing is going on.

When will it soak in, into their thick skulls, that this disease isn't taking any prisoners? When will these idiots take anything seriously and start listening to the experts on this disease and take their advice, stay home, stay away from large gatherings, wash your hands, etc.?

Churches are (those that are grossly incompetent in still meeting w/ their few remaining, live members) now beginning to suffer the impact of many sick congregation members. Guess who's going to have to pay their medical bills? Guess who is going to overwhelm our limited hospital resources? Guess who's going to die first?

Perhaps this is what they want, to get 'raptured' first (although I wonder why they call dying from this disease being raptured?). From what I understand, some preachers are saying 'use your head and intelligence that God gave you, don't be an idiot and expose yourself any more than you have to'. These particular preachers got their crap together, thank god (seriously, thank god that there are some serious voices out there). Like some have said, some of these idiots are only going for the number of clicks on their websites, etc., and don't care really about others. It shows.

When schools near me shut down, nice, well educated people expected schools to reopen in a week to two weeks at most. 😳🤯

I don't think it has sunk in yet. And we are all struggling to reclaim our equilibrium after having our lives knocked off track by this pandemic.

For dump to say things like this is beyond irresponsible, but that's in character for him.
