A Poll That Will Send Shock Waves Thru the White House

Although Trump received an early approval bounce in the polls — mostly due to the “rally effect” that occurs in the early stages of a national crisis — that bounce is fading quickly.

Here are some striking new numbers from the Navigator tracking poll:

Trump’s approval rate for handling the coronavirus down 12 points in the last week, from +10 (52% to 42%) to -2 (47% to 49%).

A majority of Americans — 51% — say Trump isn’t doing enough right now, up 10 points (from 41%) since last week.

Americans increasingly see Trump as dishonest about the pandemic: 12-point swing in honesty since early last week, from +1 (45% to 44%) to -11 (42% to 54%).

61% of Americans — including a third of Republicans — describe Trump’s response to coronavirus as “unprepared.”

But here’s the finding that should send shock waves through the White House: 40% of those who voted for Trump in 2016 now say he didn’t take coronavirus seriously enough early on, up a whopping 17 points in the last week.

My guess is that the vast majority of Americans will have their payments before the end of April. Social Security requires direct deposit of benefit checks, that will get the money out efficiently and quickly to many millions of people. And most ordinary citizen-workers get refunds, it's usually the well-off who delay filing and paying as much as is legally possible. The vast majority of them use direct deposit of a refund, and they will have their stimulus money pretty quickly.

Plus, there will be ways for people not in the above categories to give information to the Federal government to get their stimulus money fairly quickly.

I'd be surprised if even ten percent of stimulus payments go out by a mailed check.

The turd has stated that he could lose by 5,000,000 and he could still win the EC. (apparently they already have the plans in place to do just that...)

We have GOT to negate all avenues of tyranny by the minority.

One more result:

rump Rating on Coronavirus Handling at -2
Consistent with the last week of updates, Americans are nearly evenly divided on how Trump is handling the coronavirus pandemic.

Intensity of disapproval continued to increase in today’s update (26% strongly approve; 35% strongly disapprove).
Among independents, Trump is now underwater by 10 points (37% approve/47% disapprove), a net shift of 27 points since our March 30th update (53% approve/36% disapprove).

So he's really losing 'independents'. That puts a huge hole in his election prospects in battleground states.

The hatching will occur in late Summer when this begins to subside and Trump is on his victory laps, claiming a win over the virus. The big die off will be in the rear view mirror, and the economy will be beginning to recover. By November he will be a great hero in some minds.

The numbers today should be about 30% approval at the very best. We are still in deep shit with the chance of Trump being reelected. When he said that he could kill a quarter of a million people on Fifth Avenue. (my quote is not exact) and still not lose voters, he was correct.

I usually don't try to explain a joke, but I will humor you on the 1/4 million thing, it is called poetic license. I know exactly what Trump's quote was, and yes, I made the number up, but I expected that most of the readers would get it.

God's will and all of that.... Of course, we will always hold him responsible, but we are not the only ones who will be writing the story.

All of this is a fun game of what ifs but November will be here quicker than we think. If we lay back and assume Trump will be defeated on his record, we may be opening a big box of heartache for Christmas. Each of us has to devote their time, energy and our money to defeat Trump. Overconfidence is our enemy. Remember where being too sure got us with Hillary? I haven't gotten over my wife waking me on election night to tell me Hillary had conceded; it still hurts.

Today's Republicans are so brainwashed, they would vote Republican with their dying breath after having felt the impact of a Republican firing squad.

the BRILLIANT Obama administration for granted, even some of us did. There were other outbreaks during his time I think that we hardly heard about.

Anyone who supports a commander in chief who punishes Navy Commanders for protecting their own sailors, who PARDONS war criminals and who ATTACKS gold star families is not an American, not a patriot and an enemy of human race.

Rump does it because he is a broken narcissist who cant operate any other way...most of his supporters cant claim that excuse.

but they make me sick.

How can even 5% of people think that man should be president instead of in jail. I am disheartened that 40 something percent of the people in our country are that stupid, mean, and/or greedy.

It is sad.

The latest poll is 44 to 53 for -9%. When there's that much of a swing from a right wing organization like RR, you know he's in trouble.

Trump blew it! We could have stopped it (C-19) dead in China in 2019.

Trump administration ended pandemic early-warning program to detect coronaviruses

Source: Los Angeles Times

Two months before the novel coronavirus is thought to have begun its deadly advance in Wuhan, China, the Trump administration ended a $200-million pandemic early-warning program aimed at training scientists in China and other countries to detect and respond to such a threat.

The project, launched by the U.S. Agency for International Development in 2009, identified 1,200 different viruses that had the potential to erupt into pandemics, including more than 160 novel coronaviruses. The initiative, called PREDICT, also trained and supported staff in 60 foreign laboratories — including the Wuhan lab that identified SARS-CoV-2, the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

Field work ceased when the funding ran out in September, and organizations that worked on the PREDICT program laid off dozens of scientists and analysts, said Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, a key player in the program.

Far too many idiot racist fuckheads still worship that asshole, and nothing will sway them.

Guarantee that even when their household family members are dying, they'll still say things like "thank God Trump is president, at least."

Because they're a cult of idiot racist fuckheads.

At least it’s a step in the correct direction.

I’ll refrain from expressing my disgust that it’s not even better.

I saw a lecture by Neil Degrasse Tyson a few years ago in which he complained about a MUCH smaller percentage of scientists who were religious, so it can go overboard sometimes. (He at least expressed some satisfaction that it was low, but he was also displeased it wasn’t 0%.)

I’ve met too many people who believe what they WANT to believe, and they somehow can’t find MEANING in just seeking the truth while being uncertain about many things.

"No one suspected how bad it was....he didn't either". Translation: We give him a pass on this. I am not getting my hopes up on anything regarding tRUMP and his cult. Nothing, NOTHING will change their view of him as the greatest gift ever. They will gladly accept him as their DICKtator. If we do not vote him out America will have a DICKtator. America will not look like North Korean or other dictatorships per se but by changing the laws, and putting his accomplices in place America will look like a democracy but will certainly NOT be one.

What until everyone is within 4 degrees of separation or less from someone who became critically ill or died. My prediction, and I'm sticking to it, is he'll plumb the depths of Nixon's final approval numbers by mid-summer. May even break them. He's doomed. Most Republicans are doomed. It's a mathematical certainty. Their names are all over this and they can't escape it.

Remember, you heard it here first.
