Obesity, diabetes, poor diet.

Hallmarks of the poor southern states.

Just because we have an idiot in the Governor's mansion doesn't mean we're all brain dead. I went into self-isolation almost a month ago. Most of my friends have done the same.

My house mate hasn't left the house since she got back from Dallas 3 weeks ago. I've been out for groceries once a week, been to doctor's office for routine check and went to my quarantined daughter's once for her birthday. She has been hiding out with her boys since schools closed.

And each time I left my shoes outside, changed clothes and showered upon my return. Maybe too much but I don't care. Next time I go out I'll wear a mask. So far, only reported 1 case in town. We've decided it may be better our hospital is closed, because the sick won't be coming to town.

It's ridiculous we must do this, but I, remember The Andromeda Strain, The Omega Man, The Stand, etc. which make me properly paranoid. Maybe we can survive despite the Criminals in DC & Little Rock.

This might not have been a plot

But it is unfolding like a movie screenplay

surreal/ all too real.

Never waste an opportunity to weaken the body politic
This is a rolling slow motion coup.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to decimate Democratic states.

A few years ago, any writer who brought this scenario to a movie studio would have been rejected as it being too far out there, too fanciful.

Now, you are living it. It would be a documentary, not another 'end of the world as we know it' film.

CNN tweeted:
Eight US governors have decided against issuing statewide directives urging their residents to stay at home as the outbreak of the coronavirus escalates and spreads across the country, the last holdouts in the nation. https://cnn.it/3bRkgNy

Seth Abramson replied:
Never forget that, at every level of government—local, state, federal—it was Republican officials who made the decisions that cost lives during this outbreak. And it was religious zealots on the far right who systematically disobeyed stay-at-home orders and endangered all of us.
