Should the Blue States band together to fight CV-19?

It appears that the fed government is abandoning it's role to coordinate a fed response to this pandemic.

Would it make sense for NY/NE/Virginia mid Coast/West Coast all Blue States to marshal their resources and coordinate targeted responses?

I would certainly also consider shutting down travel between blue states that are fighting this pandemic actively and seal off adjacent states that are run by Republicans who haven't bothered to take this seriously.

Red state or blue state. I strongly disagree with Gov DeWine's politics, but he's implementing sane policies and listening to science in regards to Covid-19 (aside from the anti-abortion bullshit) and keeping my relatives living there safe. I'm really grateful for that.

And the states in the region are already working together where it makes sense to share medical resources across state borders.

live in red states. The more states that band together, the better. And Trump be cursed.

There are republicans in blue states and Democrats in red states.
Now is not the time, if there ever is one, for division.
We have an incompetent selfish crook in the WH.
The rest of us need to stick together.
Covid does not discriminate.

Having grown up in Nebraska, I have always had to grit my teeth around here about the rural/red assumptions people make. I only occasionally spout of about those.

But the recent ones - which even more than usual - imply a vast red/rural wasteland in which we all are just so stupid we deserve to die really piss me off.

a sort of President of the Blue States. It might be more efficient, anyway. Still wouldn't have the federal government's abilities, but it could help.

Kansas, Kentucky and Louisiana have Democratic governors. Does that make them blue states?
Maryland, Massachusetts and Vermont have Republican governors. Does that make them red states?

Every state has Democrats, Republicans, Independents.

I'll be kind and suggest that maybe you just didn't think through this embarrassing idea.

the stuff they all need. Farmers have been using co-ops for years to get the lowest prices on bulk livestock feed and other farmstead supplies. I could buy household items like soaps and cleaning supplies, also kitchen staples like flour, sugar, oil, coffee, bacon, even hams at a discounted price at my local co-op.

Hospitals should be working cooperatively, not competitively to reduce their costs. Maybe that would stop the evil Trump from out bidding one hospital against another to jack up the prices of lifesaving equipment.

any ventilators needed later by other states. Also, in a call for retired medical professionals to help NY, over 20,000 responded to NY's plea. They (NY and other states) will return the favor. We have to band together, being that our idiot in chief is blatantly dangling the federal stockpile in front of desperate states (and claiming ownership of the stockpile), all to curry votes and favors. A disgusting human being. Where are all of the adults in the room w/ this sickening administration? Where?

first, the daily federal presser not broadcast in its entirety on all the major networks. It just encourages poor behavior and gives me 2016 deja vue. Just report the highlights if there is anything useful and play a clip of Fauci. Let C-Span burn their airtime on that.

second, the governors to conference remotely and appoint a 3 person (buyer, project manager (for domestic production projects) and financier (to get the loans, investments etc. to fund the buying and the building) panel that coordinates resources and reports to 3 divided region's (East, Middle and West--each region should have a rep that sits in on their meetings) governors as to progress and gathers pertinent information, need and requests. Governors should continue to broadcast to their states giving updates but they have multiple responsibilities and there a multiple issues that demand their attention, they need professional help and the federal government is not really up to that task, after all they just exist in a tangential supplemental role as we have been told.

Ignore the orange beastie and his pet son Sherman. They just want free airtime to conduct their campaign and a good crisis to rob the Treasury.

(remember the old days when we were told that in the event of a National Disaster, we were to make sure we had 2 weeks worth of supplies to tide us over til the Feds ride in with trucks filled with their stockpile?)
