"The Greatest Generation" lived through the depression and WWII

It's hard to grasp what it must have been like living through that horrible 15 year period. First, no jobs, little to no money, hunger, and constant fear. And after that, WWII, having to save the world from death by fascism.

We are now facing our own test of how to deal with hardships and how resilient we are. The biggest difference is that "The Greatest Generation" had a president named Franklin Delano Roosevelt who took American potential and turned us into the world's powerhouse. And today, we have an incompetent, self-absorbed madman who thinks this is all about him.

Leadership really does make a difference. And lack of capable leadership is deadly.

If the current maniac in the White House manages to steal the upcoming election, America is over. The next "Greatest Generation" may just be wearing jackboots and swastikas. Horrifying thought. But a possibility.

Somehow, someway, we must put an end to the madness. Or we may just be the last generation that lives in a democracy.

On the screen this morning, talked about his lend lease program. I remember looking out the car window watching young men plant Saplings. They were CCC. Young men who could not get jobs. They worked all over the Country, rebuilding. I see them today as Forests. He rebuilt the Country

Now Cuomo is getting help from China,Oregan, other places. He intends to return the favor for the next hot spot. Cuomo is making Trump and company look like bumbling idiots without using a name.

Unregulated capitalism evolves into fascism. It happened all over Europe. It almost happened here, and if Hoover had been re-elected, the US probably would have stayed out of Europe in WWII.

Nixon, Reagan plus my "antics" as a youth. Tough and funny. A life long teacher.
And a life long Democrat.

Are the biggest reason we need to stay at home to stop this virus from taking the last of them away from us.

All of the generations after them have owed them a debt that we could never repay for their sacrifices. We now have an opportunity to make at least a down payment today.
