9 states have yet to issue formal stay-at-home orders amid coronavirus

Arkansas
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) has repeatedly defended his decision not to issue a stay-at-home order, suggesting that such a measure would cause loss of jobs.

Iowa
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) insists that a statewide stay-at-home order is unnecessary.

Nebraska
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts (R) reiterated on Thursday that he does not believe a statewide stay-at-home order is necessary yet.

North Dakota
North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) has called for residents to take social distancing seriously, but has not issued a ‘stay at home’ order.

Oklahoma
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Sitt (R) has called a statewide stay-at-home order “unrealistic,” reiterating individual personal responsibility, and the need for social distancing.

South Carolina
Gov. Henry McMaster (R) has stopped short of enacting a statewide measure. "We are not ordering people to stay at home, but from the very beginning we’ve been telling people to stay home ... and a lot of people are staying home," McMaster said.

South Dakota
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) has repeatedly resisted calls to close the state, arguing that "South Dakota is not New York City."

Utah
Gov. Gary Herbet (R) has maintained his reluctance to issue a statewide order, arguing that the state’s "Stay Home, Stay Safe," directive is a "more positive route," while a stay-at-home order would elicit fear. The "Stay Home, Stay Safe," order encourages residents to stay home as much as possible.

Wyoming
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon (R) said in a press conference that the state has no plans for a stay-at-home order.

at the expense of the blue states. When they have thousands of cases, they will get free surplus respirators from NY and California where the epidemic will be over.

That was the case in Missouri where KC and STL metro areas lead the way and Governor "Do-Nothing" Parsons (R) finally woke up yesterday.

People act like these states are having block parties and the State Fair is going on and 70,000 people are going to the football game every Saturday. I assure you that is not happening. The vast majority are home anyway. I go to my office job where we have separated the desks as much as possible. Everyone is being very careful to be sanitary and we clean everything daily etc. Then I go to the store once a week for groceries and maybe take a walk down the deserted streets of my neighborhood. I know misery loves company but kindly mind your own business news media. Flame away!

We have had reported cases in our city and county. I had to make a run to get supplies on Wednesday, by the time I got home, I had an anxiety attack. People were golfing, playing in the park (one was shut down). Walmart was PACKED, but STRIPPED! I was the only one, outside of a few employees and a few old people, wearing gloves. People were clustering, hugging, shaking hands, and kids were running about the store. The roads looked like they would on any regular day. My husband had to go out Thursday (essential staff) for a few hours, but most of his place is completely empty, so he didn't encounter anyone. I had one more shopping trip at a local store, it was much more sparse. Yesterday we had to take the puppies for their shots; they came out to us to get the dogs; contact was limited.

All in all, I made sure we are stocked, the dogs are healthy, and we can stay in (we had been self-isolated since March 17th). However, I am in VERY worried about this virus exploding and making a wildfire sweep through the area next week...EASTER! Because I don't think people will stay away from church and I am afraid we will see a massive explosion of cases, which will overwhelm our 250 bed hospital in no short order.

NM is in a 'stay at home' order, but my next door neighbors (a couple in their 50's) go out about 6 times a day.
Apparently not shopping, as they come back without stuff.
And about 3 times each week they have 3 people visit (arriving together).

They have to pass my living room window when leaving & returning.

I have a do 'not disturb' sign in my window next to my door and on the rare occasion someone knocks
I speak to them through the closed window.
