Trump Insists on In-Person Voting for November Election

Punctuating the White House task force briefing Friday, President Trump said adamantly that the general election would still take place Nov. 3, dismissing any suggestion of mail-in voting,” the Washington Post reports.

Said Trump: “I think a lot of people cheat with mail-in voting. People should vote with ID, voter ID, I think voter ID is very important. The reason they don’t want voter ID is because they intend to cheat.”

He added: “It shouldn’t be mail-in voting. It should be you go to booth and you proudly display yourself, you send it in the mail… all sorts of bad things can happen… by the time it gets in and is tabulated.”

“Trump did not provide any evidence to back up his assertion and immediately ended Friday’s news conference after discussing the topic.”

Meanwhile, the Palm Beach Post reports has requested a vote-by-mail ballot for the Florida Republican presidential primary.

to ensure that the vote comes out exactly to their liking.

Every other envelope they open with a Democratic vote in it just accidentally falls into a trash can, which is whisked away and emptied into an incinerator every 3 or 4 minutes...

They are notoriously hackable. I wouldn't be surprised if they helped get Trump where he is now in the first place.

Where I live (WA state) - where we have all the tech savvy one could ask for - we vote on paper by mail. It's as good a combination of access and security as one can have these days.

The federal government is not responsible for things it had committed to, like filling in where states lack sufficient resources to deal with public health emergencies like this pandemic, yet he wants to dictate how states run their elections.

A sure sign that administering elections is supposed to be firmly in the hands of the states...

I do not live in Oregon but seems we would have heard about voting irregularities and problems with mail-in voting by now. They've had it at least what 10 years?

The states control the manner of the voting. There are the United States Constitution and Federal laws as well as state constitutions and state laws to follow. As far as iI know you have no power or authority to determine anything in regard to elections.

Have a blessed evening Sir.

Plus, Oregon and Colorado have mail in voting only, and they don't seem to have a problem with voting fraud. I wonder why not?

If dying is the only way to get rid of your sorry, selfish, whiny ass, it'll be worth it to me. It's not like I will spread it. There is no one to come home to and I hardly ever go anywhere in the first place. I'd die to see him lose. Maybe everyone else can request absentee ballots. I'd rather die than see four more years of this fucking pieces of shit.

Will he stop the troops from voting by mail? How about citizens who work and live abroad? I can almost guarantee he will try and suspend the elections. He may succeed.

Of course this moron doesn’t realize vote by mail can be every bit as secure as voting at a poll as I suspect he just started voting about four years ago. Plenty of states already have mail-in or absentee voting in place long before this virus disrupted everything.

If numb nuts tried to ban distance voting, the courts would shut him down in a heartbeat.
