In many ways, we are being re-taught the lessons of the Great Depression, the hard way.

Over the past 40 years most of the people who lived through the Great Depression passed away. The old beliefs, ideologies, greed, that brought on the Great Depression were re-instituted through propaganda over the past 40 years.

This is why I have always believed history and civics are the most important subjects we can teach are children. Not doing so leads to economic ruin and mass death. We repeat the mistakes of the past.

Yes, this virus is unique, however the response, idealogy to combat it, is old and deadly. It will not work.

tiny shred, of a thread, of a silver lining, to be found in all this - it is that those valuable lessons are being re-learned by a new generation?

People get lazy and mean and then something bad happens to remind us that we're all on this planet together and we need to stop fucking up.

mind set of the Hoover Administration that Corporate American as well as the Banks were the only thing that mattered. And we have seen in real time, how that policy implemented by three Rethug Administrations since 1976 have created another mirroring economic nightmare.
