Saw on news this morning that lowest income SS folks are prioritized to get $ direct deposit next week.
Local news, but WGN, Chicago, so major metro.
They didn't say anything about regular tax payers though.
But, the $ is going out starting Monday or Tuesday. It won't be over by then for sure.

Plus in two weeks, majority will have money. Checks are the only thing that could stop and really doubt that would happen.

I’m more pissed about the fact at first thought we’re getting 6 grand. Maybe rumor. But then they went to 2 checks of 1250 each, a month a part. And at the end we’re getting a one time check of 1200? What a rip off.

I doubt very seriously that a majority of eligible recipients will have money in two weeks. Even those with direct deposit properly set up won't have money by then.

Listen to munchkins words.. The money will start to flow as soon as 3-4 weeks. But flow to whom, and how fast?

Look for this to go out by zip code, based on irs region. Now guess what order those zip codes will be processed, and how quickly they will move from rural southern districts to urban northern ones.

Sorry, you have to look at what they have done and how they have done it. That doesn't support your statement, especially in the context of the munchkins weasel wording.

Even if the next two weeks shows us turning the corner, the hit to the economy is definitely not going to ease before funds go out.

Besides... why would they not want to put cash in a voter's hands?

needed.

Because that is not what is driving them. Trump will order that the money go to "his" supporters first, and everyone else gets to wait.

It's how they have operated all along.

and Americans can easily be bought, but it will probably be targeted to his peeps, first (to keep 'em in line), and those liberal, left wing dens of real democracy, last ('cause we are NEVER going to drink the koolaide).

I'm just sayin'...

The simplest explanation is that the government agencies tasked with handling the distribution of payments were caught flat-footed by a hastily written and passed bill. I used to be a tax accountant, and there were a lot of revisions to tax law in the 1980's, and even with bills taking months to go through Congress, it took the IRS quite some time to write regulations to deal with changes in the law.

Just comparing the taxpayer data base of people who have direct deposit of refunds with the data base of Social Security recipients is probably a programmer's nightmare.
