(38,187 posts)Like my district in NC (District 9) created with "surgical precision" (according to the courts) to suppress and gerrymander minority votes. The no hearted Republicans in NC still haven't fixed it either.
There are a lot of uninsured in our area. I'm one of them. The ONLY option we have in my area is Blue Cross Blue Shield and their lowest "catastrophic" plan is $500 per month with an almost $9,000 deductible.
The Republicans sure gutted Obamacare's best provision, for me at least, the Medicaid Expansion. I was that close to finally have access to healthcare without the threat of them taking my home and making me end up homeless over a simple trip to a hospital.
One state north? Virginia expanded their Medicaid. So, one state north, and I would get what Obama and the Democrats intended for those of us who needed it.
