My wife reported that to me after a quick trip there. She didn't buy any, because we have plenty on hand, since she ordered some online a couple of weeks ago. But, this is the first time that Target has had TP for some time, so maybe there's hope that the hoarding is ending. She said there were several brands in stock, although the shelves weren't full.
Anyhow, keep checking your local stores if you're running low. It is coming in.

(15,149 posts)I bought one roll, because that is all that I needed.
Although many of the shelves (particularly canned goods) were sparse, people don't seem to be buying as much stuff. I was behind a guy who forked over nearly $400 for his cartful, but he looked like someone who is likely a distant resident of our county. We have many of those who only shop in town rarely.

(115,836 posts)The people who did the buying and hoarding are mostly finished with it, and the supplies are keeping up now that most people are back to buying normal amounts of that stuff. There might be a shortage of produce at some point, though, because immigrant farm workers are being kept out of the country. I'm going to be growing more of my own this summer.

(46,081 posts)I don't normally shop there, but I was hoping I'd find toilet paper.
Maybe I'll try Target next week during senior hour.

(15,812 posts)I bought an 10 oz container just before things went crazy. It was on an end cap and there was absolutely plenty. A day later, zero to be found.
I was shifting things around in my basement this past weekend and found a large container of it. 32 oz!!!
I somehow recall buying another one at some point so I may have some tucked away somewhere else in the house.
My 10 oz one is being held back in case Dh has to drive to the east coast to pick up our oldest from college.
Anyway, I have been using liquid or bar soap to wash my hands. I havent had a need to use the sanitizer. We just arent going out that much and we dont have a lot of folks showing up.

(36,463 posts)but I passed on it because they only had packages the size of bales of cotton. Unless they start stocking smaller packages, I may have to borrow a pick-up truck. That is, after I build an addition to my house to store the TP in.

(65,168 posts)What took so long? The entire population did not panic buy, or attempt profiteering.
The delay in refilling the supply chain is puzzling, especially for TP.
They make a half million rolls a day about 200 miles to your east. That's just one paper product area.
My guess is that many warehouses went to critical inventory to close the fiscal year with limited product inventory & improve the balance sheet by offsetting the unsold liability as cash.
Then, the plan was to rebuild to normal operating inventories during Q1. But, then this happened and the supply chain went empty.
Another by- product of quarterly thinking by investors & analysts.
