Predictably, the usual chorus of don't-treat-on-me assholes has been thumping its collective chest on social media with cries of government overreach and Constitutional violations, some calling for Gov Wolf to be removed from office specifically for this.
These Constitutional stalwarts who, incidentally, don't give a shit about any part of the Constitution that inconveniences them or prevents them from inconveniencing others, happily parrot the Alex Jones-esque talking points, and they reject any calls for even minimal social responsibility.
What's a good, quick response to this idiocy? It seems to me that a governor or two must have looked into the Constitutional implications before issuing the order for their respective states.
Which applicable law, ruling, or policy can I cite most readily not simply to shut down these assholes, but also to reassure non-assholes that the assholes have it wrong?

(13,262 posts)A number of PA counties were already under the order, and the governor seems to be reassessing daily as COVID-19 cases pop up in more places throughout the state.

And I agree with you re: let them hug their guns!

(63,224 posts)Both for common sense and for the lost opportunity to tell these assholes to stuff it.
Additionally, Wolf has now issued the stay-at-home order statewide. I'm deemed an essential worker, so I still have to go out, but I hope that this will keep more of the casual vectors in the house.
