THE FATAL PRICE OF TRUMP'S 'FAKE NEWS' FRENZY

Until it actually affected a family member and that person dies, I really do not think most trumpsters care too much.

The Deadly Consequences Of Trump’s Attacks On The Media In A Pandemic
Trump said the media is “angry” and is trying to “inflame” the coronavirus crisis. Plenty of people on social media agree with him

In the midst of a global crisis, President Donald Trump continues to engage in one of his favorite petty pastimes: attacking the media.

“Coming together is much harder when we have dishonest journalists.”

“I think it is a nasty question.”

“That’s CNN, fake news.”

Trump has started doing regular briefings on the coronavirus, after weeks of insisting that it was not a big deal and would go away by April.

He’s misrepresented and overpromised on tools to help people with the crisis. He falsely claimed that the Food and Drug Administration had “approved” chloroquine, an anti-malaria drug, to treat coronavirus patients, and it would be available “almost immediately.” And he has exaggerated the availability of tests for people.

Trump has also regularly berated journalists and cast doubt on the credibility of their work. As recently as Monday, he took a gratuitous swipe at the media. He noted that many of the seats in the White House press briefing room were empty and asked Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House’s coronavirus response coordinator, about the “angry media” who usually fill the seats.

“We have a lot of very angry media all around this room and they want one of these seats, but because of social distancing, we are keeping them empty and they are keeping them empty. Will there ever be a time when all of those really angry, angry people — who don’t like me much to start off with, but now they really don’t like me — will there ever be a time when these seats are full, like full to the brim like it used to be?” he asked Birx.

A few hours later, he referred to The New York Times as “Fake News!” in a tweet..............................

... they will not blame him.

They'll believe his admin did a great job. They'll believe that more of their relatives would be dead, but for the tremendous, stupendous, trump and the magic of "quick action" to ban travel from China to protect us from the Chinese virus. Of course, the ban was was doomed to failure because weeks of no testing, incompetence, and resistance had allowed the virus to circulate here, undetected (because no one was trying to detect) for weeks before the ban.

However many friends, family, and loved ones they lose, they will believe they would have lost many more if someone like evil Biden had been in charge. They'll believe it because DT and the entire Republican noise machine tells them so.

P.S. Think of this third definition of "tremendous" on dictionary.com every time you hear trump use the word:

dreadful or awful, as in character or effect; exciting fear; frightening; terrifying.

4. So he closed the US to China. He hasn't done anything else, and it won't save "1000's of lives."

Closing off to China only *potentially* saved thousands of lives, IF he had taken other bold and necessary and PRE-EMPTIVE measures, which he didn't because that would have entailed the risk of making him look like, in his mind, weak. So in light of his complete and utter lack of taking this crisis seriously for far too long, far MORE people are going to die than the 1000's he supposedly saved -- and even THOSE 1000's are going to die anyway now in the exponential growth and spread of the virus.

So basically Trump hasn't accomplished jack shit in terms of this pandemic.
