Something kind of beautiful is happening in Kentucky.

I invite you all to check out and perhaps join this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1124321234573690/?fref=nf

Our Democratic governor may be turning a red state blue.

Across the state, thousands of people are tuning in to his news conferences daily at 5:00. We like to call the press briefings "Mr. Andy's Neighborhood."

We call him Governor Andy. We love it that he gently scolds businesses (like the Floyd County Flea Market and Pike County Bingo Hall) for remaining open in defiance of his orders. We love it that he reminds us that while it's okay to be upset with them, we have to forgive them in time. We love it that when he gets mad, he says "heck" not "hell." We say he's not mad, just disappointed.

A Republican lawmaker tried to sneak in legislation weakening his powers during an emergency. She had to remove her Facebook post about it because his supporters let her have it.

I can't tell you how many people I know who say, "I'm a Republican, but he's doing a fantastic job."

Come join the fun!

On this website if you wish to be taken seriously you should utilize the term "Democratic" rather than "Democrat" when using the word as an adjective.

He is measured, compassionate, and informative. His press conferences have been the complete opposite of Trump's.

Since the teacher walk-outs when he showed his support as attorney general, I have long thought he had a long career ahead of him. As a teacher myself, I've been a fan for a while.

He's cutting his teeth the midst of a crisis, so I'm eager to see what happens with his governance in normal times.

Thank God that Matt Bevin is not at the helm right now. Elections matter.

One of the few times I've seem my daughter the 5th grade public school teacher really mad was during those protests she participated in at Frankfort. It's still a battle, but thank goodness we now have that brick wall called Andy Beshear.

The KY GOP learned the hard way: do not mess with our school teachers.......

Kentucky is where my mother's family (Hinton, Adams [sometimes referred to as the 'mad Adams's']) came from, too.

The Moreheads were Whigs/Know-Nothings/GOP and the Hintons were Democrats.

to those sites.

facebook has its own agendas and they are not to promote the free flow of information and ideas. FB wants to monetize all usages and record as much information about you as they can.

I'd recommend that Kentucky and all states move away from that platform.

This is fantastic and what we should have been doing all along. If people don't hear the message and only hear the other side we will keep losing. Howard Dean's 50 state strategy got Obama elected. Bringing in Rahm Emanuel, ending the 50 state strategy and kicking Howard to the curb was a huge blunder imho.

I call her 2-3 times a week since she is sheltering in place. She is a very socially active 81 year old and being alone is hard on her. I normally call once a week or so and half the time she is out somewhere. Normally volunteering somewhere.

She was not really telling me about the governor in a political sense. I just asked how things were going and she told me all about how great he has been. Pretty sure she did not vote for him. Abortion and all.

Now if only you can get that to spill over onto Moscow Mitch, maybe the state can dig itself out of decades of composted horse shit and chewin' tobacco. The state has an interesting political history and deserves a lot better than it's gotten in a long time.
