and preventing patients from showing up in er's. They will be able to stay below critical in-hospital levels, and since they won't test nursing home deaths, they won't be counted.

I would just say to him that he cannot hide the dead bodies. And they will start to accumulate. Funeral homes overwhelmed, neighbors and family members dying. It will be seen, noted and known.

10. If CA starts more widespread testing, the numbers will be frightening.

As far as I can tell, CA has tested about 7 per 10,000 people. WA and NY have tested 40 to 50 per 10,000 and are adding about 5 per 10,000 every day (almost the same amount CA has tested overall).

If CA were testing at the same levels, I have very little doubt the numbers would be at least 6 times what is currently being reported.

2. Where are you seeing this for Michigan

I live here.

The state to watch IMO is Arizona, they've barely done any testing or made efforts at social distancing and their deaths are rising.

They post at 2:00 PM as of 10:AM. 19 deaths since yesterday. My county has only two so far. I wish I knew how many have been tested.

I've been saying to people, don't watch how the US is tracking to Italy, watch how your individual state is tracking to Italy. Each state right now how the potential to be as bad or worse than Northern Italy.

Thanks to Mardi Gras. One of the positive test results works in the same office of about 20 people that I do. They had to disinfect the building and most of us are now working from home or in the field.

13. Numbers every day will be astonishing

That's the nature of exponential math. Louisiana shut everything down on the 17th. Even if the shutdown totally works we will not see a meaningful decrease in the exponential expansion until early April. That means at least 3 more doublings, to around 15,000 cases (may be more as testing improves) and 500 deaths. Then we'll see if the drastic measures have been effective.

DeSantis can try but he won’t be able to hide it. I took a short auto trip to my son’s house today since they had some supplies for me. I didn’t get out of the car and the stuff went into the trunk.

I am in Palm Beach County and you wouldn’t know there was anything unusual going on. Lots of traffic on the roads and parking lots at shopping centers and businesses full of cars.

Aside from closing schools and selected businesses life goes on as normal.
