They were late shutting things down, Very little testing, that is a very bad mixture. I would not be surprised if Florida becomes the hardest hit state.

(4,483 posts)is dispensable, in my cruel opinion. My son had to go to a customer's home the other day and told him he wasn't shaking hands any more; the reply? "Oh, you're one of those guys who hates Trump." I hope that stupid bastard (the customer, not my son) continues shaking hands until he needs a ventilator and there's none to be found..

We. will. never. know.

(2,375 posts)They inherited some land down the road from me and recently built a house on it, calling it their "summer home", while keeping their house in Orlando too. I laugh at them calling a 2nd home in NC surrounded by tobacco fields a summer home.
Anyway, they told me they are bringing up lots of family from Florida to stay with them here. I've already seen some unfamiliar cars on their property. I'm getting to the point I'm holding my breath when I drive by their place!

And durn, you sure do not seem in any way like the friendly Carolinians I have had the pleasure to know all my life.
Betting you are not a native.

(2,375 posts)...but if you must know, I was born and raised in NC on a farm, and live in Johnston County, surrounded by tobacco, sweet potatoes, beans, etc. I was hanging tobacco in the tops of barns when I was 13 years old. You want my street address too?

(6,930 posts)I am sure your new neighbors must be impressed by the southern hospitality you have shown.
Seems wrong to blame a locality on a virus is all I can say.

(2,375 posts)I laugh at them to myself when they said it was their summer home, not at them directly. These 'neighbors' live about an 1/8 of a mile from me and we talk when they are out walking their dog by my place. Why I'm even replying to someone I don't know or want to know I have no idea. You sound like you're miserable. I'm done.

(32,626 posts)not their government. Not the people they elect. Not the people who come from all over the world. Not spring-breakers. No...they blame New Yorkers for going to their grocery stores.

(100,086 posts)I want to scream "EXCUSE ME!!!!" have you seen what's going on in Florida? Gavin Newsom is doing his job. Ron DeSantis is not. There's a big difference. The only reason they hate Newsom is because he has a D next to his name.

(42,760 posts)Then many in their condo or in the trailer park will soon be going back
and they too will have their own dinner. Then communities all along the
length of I-75 and I-95 will start to have many infections. And of course
the employees and other patrons will display symptoms in a few weeks
as well.
