We're on a mandatory stay-at-home order. Yet motorcycle riders are out in groups, afternoon traffic as busy as a weekend day, every drive thru has lines, every grocery store parking lot is almost full.
My eighty year-old friend went to the Menard's twice today to get bulbs for her garden.
I called my daughter in Manhattan and she said everyone was out in the park like a normal weekend day.
She said it's like nobody believes this is happening.
I'm concerned. What's happening where you are?

I'm in McHenry County as well.

(5,172 posts)Haven't left my property in about two weeks. Kids in the area had been gathering with friends at eachothers homes, mine have not left the property. They want to get through this, and we have asthma so we take it seriously.
I watched what was going on in Spain and Italy, and if we can avoid that by staying home, we will.

(1,726 posts)Things were very busy a couple of weeks ago, but now it reminds me of the 1973 gas crisis. Not many cars on the road, but grocery stores are still busy.

(6,477 posts)Supply chain intact. They're actually overloaded with chicken and ground turkey. They were packing the dairy cases, and I asked one of the guys through the cooler door to pass me some eggs, which were sitting on pallets. Sure thing, grabbed me an 18 pack. Flour was short but I picked up a package. They had bread, but were limiting it to one per. Same for soap. They had store brand (Kroger) toilet paper in 4 packs and 20 packs, but no other paper products.
It was mostly empty.
But there are not group gatherings. I've been WFH by my front window. I'd say 2-3 people pass per hour, walking dogs, running, biking. The block is packed with parked cars, which means a lot of people are staying home. It's usually empty of parked cars during the day, packed at night.
