(3,483 posts)because of the imbecilic California Assembly Bill 5.
I had to buy 2 insurance policies totaling $1.25 MILLION for my tiny little one man business. Then this happens. Among lots of other things.
I'll believe it when I see it but this would be great, my job involves going up to to random houses and businesses all day every day and interacting up close and personal, I need to self quarantine. My doctor told me yesterday to stay home for 30 days.
But independent contractors are like sharks, we stop swimming, we die. Hope this works out, there are hundreds of thousands of us, maybe more.

(9,952 posts)wanted to go unemployment. I didn't want to bother but now thinking about it, I would like to see if I can be declared back to 3/16. Generally unemployment hurts company because it ends up raising the companies insurance. I do not want to do that to the company. I imagine this bill will address that too. Companies should not be hurt in this. So, two questions if anyone has the answer.
Can unemployment be dated back? And is there a provision that this will not affect a companies insurance?
