Vice President Mike Pence said Sunday that the coronavirus task force, in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, would issue guidance this week about how people exposed to the virus could return to work by wearing a mask.
Pence, along with President Donald Trump and other task force officials, appeared in the White House briefing room for a press conference with reporters Sunday evening. The briefing lasted more than an hour and consisted of long portions of the president speaking about his 2016 campaign and the hardships that rich people face when running for president.
In between the presidents remarks, Pence alluded to the fact that some Americans who have been exposed to someone with the virus may be returning to work and that they could do so safely if using a mask. His statement comes as most Americans hunker down at home, some abiding by state orders to stay inside except for grocery and pharmacy trips and other essential outings. Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases continues to grow at a rapid pace in the U.S. On Sunday, the number of people infected with COVID-19 surpassed 30,000, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. Four hundred people have died.
Trump and his coronavirus task force continue to face criticism for its slow response to governors cries for shipments of essential medical supplies such as masks, gloves and gowns. In past briefings and interviews task force officials have dodged questions about the scale and timing of those deliveries to state governments.

I'm sure those sick with the virus want to work. Pence is such an idiot.

(14,154 posts)** How do they sneeze ?
** How do they blow their nose ?
** What do they do with their tissues after they blow their nose ?
** What about rubber gloves multiple pairs ?
** Maybe they should have hazmat suits on seeing their clothes and shoes are likely infected with their virus caught.
** What about restroom facilities exclusively for them we know the virus is in human stool, what about urine.

(17,542 posts)Who among us would want to work beside someone who had been infected and was coughing into a mask? I would develop "symptoms" instantly and have to, like we construction workers used to say, "goat the house."
This shit keeps getting crazier by the day and the President's insanity cover keeps getting thinner and thinner. I would like to see the bragger and the nodder working with infected people who were only wearing masks. If they will, I will consider it (after a couple of weeks) When they start making fantastic claims, they need to back them up with actions. My policy would be, "after you, sir."
The real deal is that they want the entire country exposed at once, let the vulnerable die and get it over with for the sake of the almighty dollar. Using that formula, within a month everything could get back to "normal." It is a rational business decision, but an irrational human decision.

(58,785 posts)the lock-downs. It is not in Trump's power to reverse their orders, though he may do harm to unfortunate federal employees.
The sociopaths in DC reluctantly pretended to take enormously inadequate action by issuing a trial 15-day "guideline." And that pretense of leadership mainly to hide that states were giving up on DC and taking control.
