I'm over 60 & Dr. Birx assured me of 2 things:

1) If I'm out & about & touch my face & contract covid-19, which might be a death sentence, it is my fault for touching my face.

2) Not to worry, it's not that bad for younger people.

OK - Dr. Birx, have you ever tried not to touch your face? Something people do more when stressed. A habit I've had for all of my life. Hell there was a whole group of specialists on TV telling us not to touch your face, and they all touched their face at some time during the presentation.

So - All you did was make me more stressed. I remain sheltered in place.

EDIT to add: This was the joint news conference Dr. Birx did with Trump on 3/23/20, seemingly supporting his philosophy that the cure cannot be worse than the disease. I'm over 60, touch my face, and don't want to die.

EDIT to add: Trump's actual quote was "the cure cannot be worse than the problem"

In true Trump fashion, I will blame you.

Have no worries. Trump wants the quarantine over before Easter so he can continue to stay at his properties and over charge the taxpayers for doing so.

(which won't be a death sentence). I hope the only thing Trump gets out of this is what he deserves......I can't say what I'm really thinking.

8. That's a good suggestion - I'm fortunate that everyone in my family can shelter in place.

Where we will remain. I started stocking up when I saw what was happening in China (I saw it - where was Trump). I started buying double the amount of cat food. Bought powdered milk, canned beans, soup, rice - double this, double that.

I've been sheltered in place since March 12 - What's frightening is the President of Harvard and his wife both tested positive, in spite of working from home since the 14th. He said that he has been in physical contact with a lot fewer people then usual & does not know who he contracted it from.

I guess that if you spend your life working with people, you don't really notice just how many people you come in contact with. I spent most of my life working with machinery and only a few people.

It sounds like you are well prepared for this and that's good.

I keep thinking up reasons to go out (to the store or whatever) but then realize I really don't have to and stay home. I have to get used to this new lifestyle.

... as I get in the car. Driving is a prime time to unconsciously touch your face. And, of course, wash hands for 3 rounds of Row, row, row your boat, whenever I come into the house.

Then relax.

rather than months" would be unsafe for me and my husband.

As for being a "stupid ugly woman" - I don't think she's stupid nor ugly - but her mixed messages which seem to support Trump's reckless "plan" will not bode well for our country, neither economically nor health wise.
