White House officials estimate the bill will total $2 trillion to aid economy shut down by pandemic
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday were optimistic that a compromise trillion-dollar coronavirus economic stimulus bill would be agreed to later in the day.
McConnell, speaking at the opening of Tuesdays Senate session, said he believes negotiators are on the five-yard line.
Today we can make all of the Washington drama fade away, the Kentucky Republican said. We are very close.

A senior Trump administration official said the oversight provisions on the $500 billion fund would be similar to those in the 2008 Troubled Asset Relief Program.
Similar to what we did in TARP where there was both the Inspector General for the operation... and an oversight committee, an oversight board. You remember thats how Elizabeth Warren made her bones, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Okay, senior trump official, either its (Kushner or Ivanaka, Ludlow), you said the provisions would be similar to the TARP situation................. really are you kidding me.......... ............millions of home owners saw what happened in that shit sandwich, just ask Mnuchin how he did.......................he got to be Treasury Secretary, after he forced thousands from there homes into bankruptcy to be a party of the treason team ............ ......... ...................... and as for your snide remark about Warren.........................your fucking libertarian party damn near dismantled the CPFB and hate protecting the consumer and your party is still attacking the agency she set up.......... .............and I really don't think a fucking bank, or fucking CEO's should get any money from this proposal or any other organization that got a tax break from 39.9% down to 21%........ ..........I think, and millions of others think, that relief from student debt, mortgage payments, renters payments, credit card and car payments should be priority and not some senior official sitting in the white house with his thumb up someone else ass, trying to score brownie points..................
