Climate initiatives in coronavirus bill

This post might get deleted, but I think it's worth mentioning: Democrats are correct to vote down the coronavirus bill, since it it doesn't include protections for workers and hes too much money for corporations, IMO. However, I don't think adding climate initiatives is a good way to go at this time. Republicans are jumping all over it. My Democratic friends DON'T think it's a good idea either. Maybe Pelosi is using this as a bargaining chip.

Protection one of the hang ups? Protect Corporations? Only fair to protect workers.

I think it was Chris Murphy who said that on the Senate floor.

One from the Republicans, which doesn't protect workers and has too much money for corporations, and the Democratic bill from the House, which DOES have protections for workers, but has climate initiatives. I don't think this is the time to try to push the climate initiatives through, unless it's a bargaining chip.

As bad as this is - I think it's just a taste of things to come.
And it's showing that there is a complete lack of ability for the world to change in ways to deal with the current and coming crisis.

Almost ALL of the "leaders" are focused on the economy and business - with anything else an after thought. Busness. Wallstreet. Corporations.

There will be millions and millions w/o income, healthcare, etc and it's just going to get worse unless we find some way to value other things than private equity. Other ways than the zero sum game we've been playing.

Which means we need to walk a line with what we demand. Get worker protections, as those the average person can see the relevance to our current mess

Using this as a vehicle for less direct wants isn't a good idea

Ultimately we can only push so far, the Pubs will let things burn if it comes to it. An for any same person, no deal isn't an option... But we appear to be the only remotely sane ones in the room.
