Now, do you understand why healthcare is a human right?

You can eat right, exercise, not smoke, not drink, not do drugs, be a vegan. You can do all of that and still get sick and possibly die from a disease that you had no control over. There was nothing that you could have done to prevent you from getting the disease other than being a human.

And now, thousands of people may be facing huge medical bills over something that they had no control over, and if the Republicans get their way, they won't be able to get health insurance in the future because it's a pre-existing condition.

We all have a human right to healthcare because we cannot control every threat affecting our health.

Healthcare is essential for human life and should not be a commodity subject to one's ability to pay. You can pay for a nose job or face lift, but you should not ever have to worry about going broke because you have cancer.

You need the health care you need. All of us require a certain amount of preventative care. When we are ill or injured, we need more.

It is NOT a commodity to be "managed" in "free markets."

I didn't wake up one day and say, Gee Wiz, I think I'll start shooting myself up with Enbrel ($1200 a week). I deserve it!

Our system is insane and inhuman.

Elizabeth Warren, for example, agrees that it's a human right. And she actually had a feasible plan, backed by numbers, as to how to get there.
