in Manhatten swells to three million. That's 130,000 people per sq mile.

I'm afraid that our greatest city is about to get bodyslammed by this virus. I'm heartbroken.

which we can chalk up, in a pinch, to disproportionate testing.

But 30% of the deaths at 6% of the population ...

And it's even more skewed if you look at the NYC megalopolis instead of dividing the deaths across state boundaries and averaging each cluster in with the lower-risk population in each state.

It's like Illinois or even Tx. Illinois' clusters near the urban complex with Chicago at its center; Tx may only have 9 deaths, but 5 are in/around Dallas/Ft. Worth while Houston/Harris/Ft. Bend has 1.

Can't run an unitary analysis on the US with that kind of distinction.
