I believe Trump's calculating that

He has likely been told by advisers what is going to happen to the economy later this year and he’s going to open things back up because he thinks he’s got a better chance at reelection by making a poor decision on the healthcare aspect than if 20% of people are out of work. Everything he does is about his re-election and I’m guessing he’s gonna roll the dice and hope bodies don’t start piling up. That’s the only thing that I can even wrap my mind around on why you’d open things back up even before what is said to be the timeframe for the worst.

People will become ill, some gravely so. Many people will die. What will happen is that Trump will have an "oh, shit" moment in July or Agusts when businesses are organically shutting down, some for good. He will then be so far down the rabbit hole that completely reversing every single decision won't save his ass.

5. Remember, Money is Their God.

Remember, for republicans, money is their God. They think in Darwinian terms. New York and California are full of democrats. If more poor people die, it’s all to the good for them. Also they will keep people in prisons. Private prisons are a good investment when the stock market is tanking. Learn to think like them to understand them. And be grateful that you are a human being who cares!

trumpie is NOT in charge of the states. The governors are. And they have made it abundantly clear that they are not willing to sacrifice their citizens for Wall Street, trump's properties (Five of six have closed due to lack of business. I know what you're thinking . . . . but what are Eric and Don Jr doing ?), or the economy.

Cuomo (NY), Newsome (CA), Inslee (WA), Kate Brown (OR) and others are are not going to capitulate to salve trump's ego.

10. Doesn't federal authority preempt state authority?
Wed Mar 25, 2020, 04:01 AM
Mar 2020

Not that I want it to, at least in this instance. But, I don't think that we can have it both ways. I HATE tRump, with every particle of my being, and his recent horrid pronouncements are so sickeningly venal and pandering to the fundy fanatics -his remarks about Easter made me want to vomit! But, since federal authority has been used over the states to, for example, combat racism, I question whether our state governors could protect us against this murderous plan to feed us to the ravenous jaws of the greedy. Please don't misunderstand me, I WANT our governors to protect us from these murderous greedy monsters. I really hope that there is some way that they can!

13. The Constitution leaves most issues to the states.

There are areas where the Constitution imposes federal rule over states. It would take a constitutional scholar to determine the likelihood of Trump succeeding in overruling governors' orders for people to shelter in place, and others would disagree. If Trump tried to do that, it would eventually end up with the Supreme Court. We're in unprecedented times.

I fervently hope that the governors, and wise choices prevail. As the I Ching might refer to it, these are 'interesting times'.

11. Why open things back up...to inflict pain.
Wed Mar 25, 2020, 04:03 AM
Mar 2020

He's a psychopath, inflicting pain and causing chaos is his primary objective. Psychopaths live to create pain and sow discord, not to solve problems.

To "love is to hurt" is their twisted motto.

We are deeply confused if we suggest that he's trying to "help out" or "provide solutions" because he's not able. Not even on the most simplistic level. The psychopath's brains are wired for inflicting pain not preventing it.

Gaming out his "calculations" makes no sense because he operates purely on ignorance and emotion.
