22 people in a nursing home in Chicago suburb have Covid 19

Over the weekend, health officials announced a resident at the Chateau Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located in the 7000 block of South Madison Street in Willowbrook tested positive for COVID-19. That person was hospitalized in critical condition.

The state health department tested others in the same home and 22 cases of the virus were confirmed.

Among the patients are 18 residents and four staff.

I performed for seniors there. Every client had canceled my shows except for this one.
I got a call from the Illinois Department of Health.

...my parents absolutely love the entertainers who come to their facility in a different suburb. When they were still allowing visitors, I would make a point of being there when singers, dancers, etc would be there. I quite enjoyed the entertainment myself!

Thanks for what you do!

I'm staying away from the mirror to avoid reinfection.

assisted living facility. Chicago and immediate suburbs are becoming a real virus hotspot.
They have stopped all visitors as of last week, thankfully, but staff still has to come and go. I know they are doing a fantastic job of cleaning the common areas and apartments, but that only accomplishes so much.
I was making the drive from Ohio once a month and would stay for a week to visit. I’m not doing that now and my parents are in their 90s and have no idea how to skype or do anything technical. We keep in touch via phone.
It’s breaking my heart not to be able to see them in person.
