we will knock the active infection rate back to single digits.

Then we can emerge and practice the social distancing and active dis-infection of surfaces... and almost go back to "normal".

Then we wait for the vaccine

for an absentee ballot. I would hope that all 50 states would go to VBM right away and get their systems in place immediately. They already mail out voter pamphlets and sample ballots. Not any more difficult to mail genuine ballots and get rid of the polling places entirely.

7. We've also seen Democratic governors delay (not shut down) Democratic primaries.

It isn't the first time an election has been delayed. It is rare, but it has happened due to extreme weather (blizzards, hurricane).

This is a flipping primary in a presidential nomination process that has effectively been decided but for the stubbornness of Bernie Sanders.

And six months from now is September -- a month after the convention and two months before election day. If need be Congress could change the day from November 3 to a month later and there would be time for the states to count and certify the votes and for the Electoral College to meet.

Some people seem to be more invested in freaking out over unlikely scenarios than over the crisis right in front of their noses.
