Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday that he would push ahead with passing the $100-billion stimulus package negotiated between the White House and House Democrats last week, adding that Senate Republicans with reservations about the bill should gag them.

McConnell is also one of the most disliked Senators in his own home state. He and Ms. Concerned Collins. I will rejoice when we dump those two in November!

(58,785 posts)suddenly have Moscow Mitch up against the wall. Not to say he doesn't have lots of nasty sleight-of-hand tricks planned to deceive them into thinking senate Republicans are coming through for them, instead of going his best to give with the public hand and screw with one he's hiding.
As the minority party, we can always threaten to tell people who refuse to listen if McConnell screws too hard, though.

(7,541 posts)Most constructive measures have already been stripped out of the bill or given carveout exemptions by the House. Corporations with more than five hundred employees will not be required to give paid sick leave to employees sick with coronavirus. No paid sick leave for you or me or almost sixty million American workers.
