Here in Connecticut, we had our first confirmed case March 8. Today we have 68.

And that's a massive undercount, of course, because we've only been testing people with symptoms severe enough to require hospitalization or symptoms plus known contact with a confirmed case.

I got pooh-poohed on social media for using the word "exponential" a week ago. That seems like eons ago.

On the plus side, the assisted living place where my mom lives set up ways for people to video chat with residents who don't have computers. I was able to see and talk with my mom! It was sweet. She seemed content even though everyone is eating their meals along in their rooms now.

because it's a massive undercount, all you're looking at is the growth in testing muriel_volestrangler Mar 2020 #1
Probably both: testing is increasing and actual cases are increasing. femmedem Mar 2020 #4

and that's not 'exponential' - tests don't cause more tests. It's just that testing has started.

We're still behind in testing. No one knows how many tests private labs have done because only positives are reported, but the state has done less than 500.
