I would use it to pay bills not spend on new stuff.

Wonderful how republicans think $1000 is a lot of money to give to the masses. $1000, UNLESS it's every month, will do nothing to solve this problem.

My husband and I would deposit the check to our cash fund, to the benefit of our bank, of course. Our kids don't need our help. We're on very modest, mostly fixed income but already have lots of the things people think they need to live, like a nicely equipped home, and don't just blow money these days.

(11,885 posts)Rather than given to a bank or the wealthy like they've done before then refuse to give out loans. I use it for what else is needed. This is going to last longer than they are telling us.

(3,131 posts)Millions of Americans cant be wrong. There is obviously nothing more vital to survival than TP.
TP must be what attracts water into your house so you can just turn on the tap.
You can wrap yourself in it or burn it for warmth.
It looks and feels fluffy but I havent tried using it for smores. It must go well with peanut butter because everything does.
A friend of mine told me bidding on ebay is more than 30 bucks for a six pack. I should have made wiser investment choices.
The best use will be TPing the houses of people around me who voted for trump.
Sorry for poor attempt at humor. It isnt funny for people who need the extra money.

(12,712 posts)Buy some clothes and shoes, (mine are shot). Get a new tent for sure because this one leaks now. Maybe get some propane for my heater if it is still cold enough out.
I would also like to have a full meal now and then for a change, so I would probably indulge in that luxury since SNAP without a kitchen to prepare things with does not last long and I fast a lot.
I have some things that were lost or broken that could be replaced. I mean, wow. Living large!
It would be a really big deal for me.

A lot of economists are estimating the economic impact of this as being larger than 2008-2009.

I realize there are many worse off than myself so I will only keep half for my use. The remainder I will give to our church program which helps feed first and second generation immigrant families. We are looking at trying to double the number of families we are assisting.
